Bryant Logan

Hey there!๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿผ I appreciate you stopping by to check out my cloud portfolio. I built this web app on AWS as part of the Cloud Resume Challenge. The front-end is using S3 to store the content for the webpage. I purchased the domain bryantlogan.com through Route 53 and directed traffic to a secure (HTTPS) CloudFront distribution. For the backend, it's using DynamoDB to keep track of how many people have visited this webpage. Each time the page is loaded, a Javascript function makes an API call to the API Gateway, which triggers a Lambda function to add +1 to the visit count in DynamoDB, and retrieve the current visit count to be displayed at the bottom of the page. Lastly, the backend resources were provisioned with Terraform.

My professional background is in sales management. Prior to that, I worked nearly every front-of-house job in restaurants while I was going to college in NYC - I can sling a mean Manhattan! Although my careers have always been people-forward, I decided to venture into the world of tech at the end of last year - specifically cloud. During my 8 years managing a sales team, I saw a transition from paper leads to a web-based CRM. When COVID hit, we had to quickly shift from in-home consultations and on-site office hours to a remote workflow. If there's one thing I've realized about myself, is that I'm an excellent adapter. I welcome change, and am motivated by the opportunity to learn and implement new skills, technologies, and ideas. I am eager to join a team that encourages continued education, professional development, and organizational success.

Interests

When I'm not doing something cloud-related, I can most likely be found in the kitchen. I worked at some amazing restaurants with extremely talented chefs, and have always had a passion for food (cooking and eating). When my job went remote in March of 2021, my partner and I were able to try out the COVID nomad lifestyle. We've spent the past year in the PNW, and have done some spectacular hikes here in Washington. Traveling is a passion - if I had to pick one, Greece is probably my favorite country so far.

In my downtime, I enjoy playing my guitar and writing songs. I like to stay in touch with my friends and family. For social media, I'm either on LinkedIn or TikTok.
